Cause of death: Death Certificate states Tuberculosis, but biographers have also suggested she died from dehydration and malnourishment, due to severe morning sickness

British novelist, the eldest sister of Anne Brontë and Emily Brontë. Their novels have become standards of English literature. Charlotte Brontë, who used the pen name Currer Bell, is best known for Jane Eyre, one of the most famous of English novels.
